FOUR FUSING LESSONS
With Patterns and Materials Lists
for learning glass fusing
by Boyce Lundstrom

Each of the four lessons teaches a specific group of basic concepts for designing for kiln firing and for controlling the material.

Included are patterns for cutting the glass, printed on separate pull-out folded paper, so you can fuse the projects as you work through the lessons.

Includes:
  • Fan Lights teaches blending colors, focusing on achieving a three-dimensional effect and good placement of pattern pieces to take advantage of variations in art glass sheets
  • Snowflakes and Crystals teaches production techniques, including strip cutting and volume contol
  • Leaf Motif teaches principles of tile slumping and creating color blends by layering glass
  • Low Tide uses wire inclusions in the fused products, and covers cutting and grozing

FROM "FAN LIGHTS":

"Attention should be given to the surface color when placing your patterns on a streaky glass. Light opal streaks, in a cathedral base, will appear much darker and more opaque after firing. Pink cathedral and white opal streaky is used for the climbing rose. Patterns should be placed after giving close consideration to surface as shown below."

This collection sells for $30.00 and is available through stained glass supply stores.
